Event Summary: A benefit concert, featuring international stars, will be held on World AIDS Day (December 1, 2009) at the Beacon Theatre in New York City; this will be the first event of a worldwide concert series that will return to NYC in December, 2010.

Scope of Problem:
- 1,400 children under the age of 15 die each day from HIV-related illness
- 1,800 children each day become infected with HIV
.
Goals of “Save A Baby”:
- Raise $5.5 million in 2009-10
- Deploy the “Save A Baby” initiative in target countries: Kenya, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam and Congo
- $1,000 saves a newborn baby from a life infected with HIV
.
Description:
- Launch “Save A Baby” campaign with a star-studded concert in NYC on World AIDS Day
- Featuring leading pop/rock/r&b acts
- Hosted by leading celebrities and newsmakers
- Live video link with a current “Save A Baby” facility in Cambodia
- Real time cell phone “text to donate” campaign
- Event extensions include: Live network or internet simulcast, DVD/CD release, iTunes downloads, and viewing parties in major markets
